Digital Inventory Intake Protocol

The foundational institutional method for the authentication, cataloging, and pre-selection of high-volume trading card assets.

1. Environmental Staging

Before physical asset handling commences, the environment must meet the PGC Staging Standard. Any ambient dust or improper humidity levels will negatively impact surface integrity during the cleaning phase.

  • Climatization: Relative Humidity (RH) maintained between 45% and 55%.
  • Surface Hygiene: Non-porous, high-gloss white surface (HPL or Glass) sanitized with isopropyl alcohol 30 minutes prior to intake.
  • Lighting: 5000K-6000K color temperature overhead + adjustable 360-degree forensic macro light.

2. The Triple-Pass Inspection

Institutional intake requires three distinct passes prior to AI scanning. This filters out "Non-Gem Prime" assets, saving over 40% in processing costs.

  1. The Structural Pass (1x): Visual verification of gross defects (creases, major surface stains, obvious factory miscuts).
  2. The Forensic Pass (10x): Use of a PGC-Certified jewelers loupe to analyze corner density and edge-fiber compression.
  3. The Surface Delta Pass (Angle Shift): Tilting the asset under direct light to identify surface pitting and dimples not visible head-on.

3. AI Forensic Data Capture

Once the asset passes manual triage, it enters the Digital Twin creation phase. This is the "Hard Proof" of the pre-graded condition.

  • Scanned Metrics: 1200 DPI face-on scan + multi-angle macro photography of all four corners.
  • Calculated Value (CV): Image data is ingested into the PGC logic engine to generate the "Shadow Grade."
  • Blockchain Hardening: All raw pixel data is hashed and stored to provide permanent proof of condition prior to third-party grading.
